CK Tremletts Expansion

Grain Silos & Materials Handling

This grain storage and handling expansion project consisted of the supply and construction of eight 2,600 tonne flat bottom silos for repeat client, Andrew Tremlett.

Works included concrete foundations incorporating ‘H’ style flush floor aeration, two 300 tonne-per hour bucket elevators with six way distributors and associated chute work, and transfer conveyors and structural support towers with access ladders.
Ahrens were able to add value during the design phase by optimising storage capacity in line with the structural footing detail and material handling equipment capabilities. This effectively increased storage capacity by a further 800 tonne at a minimal additional cost to the client.
We were able to add value during the design phase by optimising the storage capacity in line with the structural footing detail and material handling equipment capabilities. This effectively increased storage capacity by an additional 800 tonne at minimal additional cost to the client. We were also able to design the silo footing to minimise potential issues due to working height during construction and ongoing site maintenance.

This project was successfully delivered to a very tight deadline though clever programming and scheduling to enable utilisation and final construction to occur simultaneously, with safety and efficiency being paramount.
