Heavy Vehicle Workshop
This project consisted of the design, manufacture and installation of three buildings and the extension of a 22-metre-high heavy vehicle workshop with a 50-tonne overhead gantry crane used for maintenance of over-size tippers. The project also entailed the supply of two smaller sheds with cranes, which incorporated transportable buildings.
Due to the extremely remote location – 450 kilometres east of Port Hedland – the site had its own concrete batching plant providing the mine’s daily requirements. Careful and clever planning was necessary to schedule concrete deliveries in line with the demanding construction programme.
