METCASH MEGA DISTRIBUTION CENTRE

Ahrens were engaged to design and construct a new world-class facility for Metcash at Gepps Cross SA. This 70,000m2 facility will improve the Metcash supply chain, providing a greater range capacity for grocery, perishables and liquor items.
Scope of works included a 52,000m2 ambient warehouse as well as 14,000m2 of temperature-controlled warehouses consisting of a 9,000m2 chiller and 5,000m2 freezer.
COOPERS MALTING FACILITY

Ahrens was engaged by repeat client Coopers to design and construct their new state-of-the-art malting facility. The project utilised 1,100 tonnes of structural steel manufactured by Ahrens' steel division, and featured 25 silos of varying sizes, conveyor bridges and gantries, processing buildings, germinating vessels and a kiln.
TIMBERCORP

Ahrens were engaged by Timbercorp to build a processing and packing facility for their expansive hydroponic truss tomato glasshouse project. The full turnkey project included the construction of the main building, offices, inspection rooms, and plant and equipment rooms.
Additionally, Ahrens supplied and installed the concrete floors for the glasshouses and built a series of underground pits to house all of the water and air pipelines for the processing plant and the glasshouses externally.
ST HUGO WINES

In addition to a number of projects Ahrens had successfully completed for Pernod Ricard Pacific, Ahrens were engaged to redevelop the St Hugo winery visitor centre located in the Barossa Valley.
With a total building area of 1,050m2 spanning over two floors, works included a stone lounge, cool room, dry storage areas, tasting rooms, restaurant, back of house areas, staff room and amenities, external terrace and courtyard.
