This design and construct project provided leading steel plate profiling and cutting company, Ferrocut, with a modern manufacturing facility within the Techport industrial precinct.
The client required a sustainable building design that maximised the use of natural lighting and rainwater harvesting.
The workshop was designed with large open spaces to allow for the manufacture, storage and cutting of steel profiles and included four 20-tonne overhead cranes. Ahrens designed and constructed this new storage facility in Port Adelaide for client, Natrio - a global company specialising in the import and distribution of high volume dry chemicals, efficient logistics and supply chain solutions.
Work included the construction of a 4,500m2 bulk storage facility for the storage of up to 24,000 tonnes of soda ash, an essential raw material used in the manufacturing of glass, detergents, chemicals and other industrial uses. Additional scope of works included allowances for bulk storage trucks to drive in and dump the soda ash as well as conveyor systems and a hopper for the input and output of the product.
