Employee Story: Jayden Bell

A bright spark at Ahrens

How Jayden Bell has forged a path for himself at Ahrens

The bright spark of determination, innovation and pedal-to-the-metal hard work has characterised one of Ahrens’ youngest project managers for the last six years.

Jayden Bell has had a remarkable career journey, forging a path for himself in order to rise through the ranks at Ahrens. Beginning his career in 2014, Jayden first stepped foot in Ahrens through work experience as part of his Certificate II in Metal Engineering. Making such a positive and lasting impression on his managers, he was instantly offered an apprenticeship and was working in the Ahrens Steel workshop in an - ultraviolet - flash.

Jayden’s career at Ahrens has progressed rapidly and this is credit to his drive for success. Seizing every opportunity that came his way with both hands, Jayden spent the majority of his apprenticeship in the Kingsford workshop while jumping at every opportunity to work at other Ahrens sites across South Australia. His eagerness to learn and quick progression within Ahrens didn’t go unnoticed and he was soon brought into the Steel office to assist with estimating and quoting jobs.

Jayden began managing small projects and over time, this progressed into larger and more complex projects with wider scopes of works. In January 2020, Jayden was promoted to Project Manager in the Steel SA division, managing 90% of external projects for the division.

Ahrens has granted Jayden many opportunities to travel interstate and to various mine sites which has helped him grow both personally and professionally. Jayden has found that no matter how big the project is, his team are always there to lend a helping hand and teach him new skills they have acquired over the course of their careers.

Jayden’s one piece of advice for future employees is that ‘hard work, motivation and the passion to do better’ will not go unnoticed at Ahrens.

A highlight of Jayden’s career has been working alongside Ahrens’ D&C teams and he aspires to continue doing what he has always tried to achieve, well into the future; performing his role to the best of his ability. It’s safe to say, we are thrilled to have Jayden a part of the Ahrens family for the foreseeable future.
