Ahrens complete steel manufacturing facility for Ferrocut
An expansive new workshop and office facility has recently been completed for South Australia’s premier specialist steel processor and steel supplier, Ferrocut.
Ahrens were engaged to design and construct the $9 million-dollar facility in Pooraka for tenant Ferrocut, a subsidiary business of Southern Steel Group, the largest privately-owned steel distributor in Australia.
With extensive experience in designing and building fit-for-purpose facilities for the manufacturing industry, Ahrens were the ideal fit to deliver this latest project.
The facility features a 7800m2 warehouse, loading awnings and a two-storey 600m2 administration building complete with offices, kitchen, bathrooms and lift access between the two floors.
Ahrens in-house capabilities also included the supply of 360 tonnes of steel fabrication. External hardstand and associated car parking completed the facility.
Ahrens were able to efficiently manage the project within eight months from start to finish, despite challenges with latent ground conditions encountered during earthworks on the site.
This project continues an excellent client relationship between Ahrens and Southern Steel Group, with Ahrens completing Ferrocut’s former custom-manufacturing facility more than 10 years ago.
