Ahrens has recently completed projects for Metcash in Darwin and Perth, with a total value of more than $22m. The full Design & Construction project in Darwin, consisted of a dry goods store warehouse, freezer and cool room warehouse, canopy and loading dock, with two separate two-storey office annexes for despatch and administration. Allbuilt was able to complete the construction within a tight timeframe, aided by the steel manufacturing being done internally by Ahrens Steel. Metcash has benefited from the project due to increased productivity and the benefits of a modern facility which incorporates the latest technology. In Western Australia, Ahrens has completed a freezer building, battery charging and cross dock facility for Metcash over three main stages.
