Adam White’s journey with Ahrens began in 2020 when he joined as a Mechanical Engineering Apprentice.
Initially gaining experience in welding and fabrication with his previous employer, Adam soon discovered a true passion for machinery and engineering.
Two years into his role as a machine operator, he felt ready for greater challenges and growth.
“I was looking for an environment where I could learn, face new challenges, and make a real impact,” he says, and he found exactly that at Ahrens.
In late 2022, as Ahrens expanded its machinery at the Kingsford factory, Adam seized the opportunity to train on the new equipment.
His dedication and quick learning led him to become the primary operator for the new machinery, culminating in his recent promotion to Processing Coordinator.
Now, Adam oversees machine operations and continuously seeks improvements in the workshop’s processes.
Reflecting on his time with Ahrens, he says, “One of my favourite parts of the job is facing new challenges, learning from them, and feeling the reward of making real improvements.”
Adam has found the support and knowledge-sharing culture at Ahrens invaluable.
From understanding processing machinery to learning the steps involved in construction projects, he attributes his growth to the collaborative team around him.
“I work with great people who are easy to get along with – this creates a comfortable work environment where people are genuinely happy to be here,” he says.
Adam also appreciates the variety of roles and learning experiences Ahrens provides, adding, “Something I admire about working at Ahrens is the variety of work and opportunities to learn, experience new things, or even explore different professions within the company.”
Looking back on his journey from apprentice to Processing Coordinator, Adam feels proud of how far he has come and is eager for future growth with Ahrens.
