Stacey joined Ahrens in April 2023 as a Contracts Manager, bringing with her an extensive background in accounting, project management and contract management across industries like steel, building and manufacturing.
In her current role, Stacey splits her time between contracts and procurement, supporting teams in navigating complex terms and securing favourable outcomes. She has been instrumental in strategic initiatives, including successful legal tenders with Ahrens’ leadership team. “I like to think I play a role in protecting the company’s interests and helping teams get their projects over the line,” Stacey says.
The story of Stacey joining Ahrens first began over a decade ago, where she applied for an accounting role. While she had already accepted another position at the time, she kept the company on her radar.
Years later, Stacey explored a legal role at Ahrens but with two young girls at home was unable to commit to full time work. With her daughters now older, Stacey was finally able to join Ahrens family in a Contracts Management role. “I have always wanted to work for Ahrens – all the stars finally aligned, and it all worked out,” she says, reflecting on her long-standing connection with the company.
One of Stacey’s favourite aspects of working at Ahrens is the variety. The company’s diverse operations allow her to engage with people across all divisions and all levels—from project administrators to directors—building strong working relationships with open communication. “I don’t want people to hesitate to pick up the phone and seek advice, no matter how trivial they think it may be” she says. “But beyond that, I like how our conversations aren’t just transactional – people really care about each other here which makes it such a great place to work.”
Stacey also values Ahrens’ dynamic nature, where no two days are the same, keeping her engaged and constantly learning.
Outside of work, Stacey leads a full life in the Barossa with her husband, two daughters and an American Staffy. She plays netball in the local league and enjoys relaxing with good food, wine and friends.
Looking ahead, Stacey aims to continue proactively educating teams about contract terms to streamline processes and minimise risks. “If we put the effort in at the front end, the back end becomes much smoother and everyone works more efficiently,” she says.
