Today, Ahrens is made up of over 1,000 employees Australia-wide, who represent a diversity of backgrounds and skills but are aligned through a shared set of values and a desire to be the best they can.
Focusing on honesty, sincerity and reliability, we foster strong working relationships and are committed to doing business that create mutual benefits for all involved.
Our people understand working at Ahrens isn’t about doing a job and going home, it’s a place they belong and can grow to be the best they can. Our people understand their contribution makes a difference and will go the extra mile to get the job done.
This is what it means to be part of the Ahrens Family.
We are proactively committed to zero harm on all our worksites and in our offices and take the health, safety and welfare of all our staff, clients, consultants, visitors, and the general public very seriously.
We have an outstanding health and safety record that is testament to our commitment to training our people and supporting the best systems and procedures. We cultivate safe working behaviours, run ongoing training and awareness sessions throughout the company and conduct regular risk assessments and safe work planning on all our work sites. We also develop a Work Health and Safety Plan for all our projects in line with relevant legislation and any client requirements.
At Ahrens, we value the contribution of individual employees and encourage them to strive for personal and professional excellence. In addition to internal training sessions tailored to our business needs, our employees attend external training in many disciplines, from finance and business development to safety and site supervision.
We are committed to providing a workplace free of discrimination and harassment. As well as complying with equal opportunity laws, we work hard to provide a safe and pleasant work environment, and career development opportunities for all employees.
Ahrens appreciates and accepts the importance of the Australian Culture and encourages First Nations people to apply for positions in our company.
Ahrens supports many philanthropic initiatives and we encourage our employees to get involved in giving back to their community. To assist this, Ahrens has established an annual Employee Donation Program where employees are able to nominate a charity, grassroots sporting group or other. Their nomination will receive a donation made by Ahrens on behalf of the employee.
Our employees celebrate their birthday for the month over a morning tea organised by Ahrens. We nominate a charity per month that aligns with our six pillars, where employees are encouraged to make a small donation as part of Ahrens’ fundraising efforts.
