As an important cultural hub, the Adelaide Entertainment Centre car park needed to accommodate a large volume of cars yet still be attractive.
Aluminium panel screening was erected to the entire exterior and featured a multi-dimensional, eye-catching design using various perforations to create the image of an audience and musicians during a concert, while allowing for adequate ventilation to the car park structure and eliminating the need for exhaust extractors.
The car park was constructed within a busy operating environment, situated on one of Adelaide’s main arterial roads, however works were completed quickly. The car park features 845 parking spaces over five levels with two adjoining wings to maximise parking availability. Ahrens provided 1,072 tonnes of steel, which was prioritised for just-in-time delivery to meet tight scheduling demands. This was accomplished by fabricating and painting the steel at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility.
