Wheatbelt Steel deliver on Unique Feedlot Shed
Ucarty Pty Ltd Holdings owner Todd Quartermaine continues to call on Wheatbelt Steel to support the cattle and broadacre company, with his earlier request resulting in a large-scale Feedlot Shed.
The WA farmer was keen to strengthen the family-operated enterprise at South Dowerin and chose an Open End Feedlot Shed measuring an impressive 240m x 30m x 5.9m.
“We turned to Wheatbelt Steel to build a first-of-its-kind shed to support the welfare of up to 2,000 of our cattle,” Todd said.
The team collaborated with the longstanding client to design a custom; 18-degree roof pitch shed to meet necessary regulations.
Works included creating a one-metre gap at the top of the shed for ventilation purposes.
Ucarty Holdings’ journey with Wheatbelt Steel means they recommend the team to other land professionals looking to build a shed both practical and functions to their farming operation.
Todd shared how the team did a “great job and completed the Feedlot to budget”.
“We continue to call on Wheatbelt Steel due to their in-house capabilities which are the main reasons behind us committing to another Feedlot build,” he said.
“There’s also no hidden costs and it’s helpful Wheatbelt Steel is based locally with the Northam site.”
Todd added how he appreciates the streamline process of Wheatbelt Steel, from the design work through to construction and handover.
Ucarty Holdings has since called on Wheatbelt Steel to build a Machinery Shed, measuring 64m x 24m x 7.4m, scheduled in August 2023 and a further Feedlot Shed, measuring 180m x 30m x 5.8m, scheduled for March 2024.
In 2021 the team also completed the farm enterprises’ Lean-to Shed, measuring 36.5m x 8.5m x 7m.
